These 3- or 5-day packages are designed for photographers who want more than a typical workshop. You’ll gain both technical insight and practical experience in a stunning natural environment, guided by a professional photographer and wilderness guide.

  • Exclusive day trip to a nearby national park: explore one full day of theory and practice in a dramatic and inspiring outdoor setting.

  • Flexible learning: While some topics are pre-planned, each retreat is tailored to the participants. With small groups (maximum 4 people), I can offer personalized guidance based on your experience, goals, and specific interests.

  • While wildlife photography is the main focus, those interested in landscape photography are equally welcome. The surrounding fells, forests, and rivers offer spectacular scenery, especially during golden hours of the midnight sun and seasonal transitions.

This exclusive retreat is designed for small groups – or even solo guests – who want a truly personalized experience in the wild and is offered in two formats:

  • The Standard Retreat, based around a cozy wilderness cabin with daily field excursions in the forest area around, and one full-day visit to a nearby national park.

  • The Premium Retreat, based entirely in a remote national park — offering dramatic mountain views, waterfalls, streams at sunset, alpine wildlife, and breathtaking landscapes around every corner.

FAQ – Practical Info

🍽️ Is food included in the retreat price?
Main meals (lunch and dinner) are not included.
However, the retreat includes:

  • Access to a fully equipped kitchen for self-catering

  • A grocery stop in Gällivare on arrival

  • Light refreshments such as coffee, tea, and snacks available during the day

Please inform in advance if you have any allergies or specific requirements.

✈️ What is the nearest airport?
The closest airport is Gällivare (Lapland Airport).
Transfer from Kiruna Airport (approx. 1.5 hours away) can be arranged upon request.

🚆 What if I travel by train?
Transfer from the Gällivare train station is included in all packages.

🚗 Is transfer to and from the retreat location included?
Yes – pickup and drop-off from Gällivare airport or train station is included.
Transfer from Kiruna airport is available for an additional cost.

🧭 Where does the national park day trip take place?
The exact location depends on weather and conditions, but the trip typically takes place in or near Stora Sjöfallet National Park, Padjelanta, or Sarek – areas known for dramatic mountain scenery and pristine nature.

🛏️ What kind of accommodation is provided?
In the Standard Retreat, you’ll stay in a simple, cozy cabin with access to a traditional wood-fired sauna.
In the Premium Retreat, accommodation is arranged in or near the national park through STF or similar remote lodges, usually with shared kitchen facilities. Exact location may vary depending on availability and season.

The key difference is location and exclusivity.

  • In the Standard Retreat, we are based in the beautifully situated area of Tjautjasjaure, surrounded by forests, low mountains, and rich wildlife. You’ll have the opportunity to photograph from hides, explore nearby woodland trails, and even go on boat or kayak excursions to capture wildlife and landscapes from the water. One full-day excursion also takes us into a nearby national park.

  • In the Premium Retreat, we spend the entire 5 days on location in or near the spectacular national parks — Stora Sjöfallet, Padjelanta or Sarek — with daily access to alpine scenery, fjäll peaks, waterfalls, and wide open landscapes.

The Premium version offers a more exclusive and immersive experience, ideal for those seeking to be fully surrounded by dramatic wilderness from morning to night.
