Capturing moments like this isn’t easy; it requires a great deal of planning to know exactly when the conditions are right. This photo was taken one hour after sunset, when the orange-red colors had almost completely faded, but there was still a soft light on the horizon that beautifully illuminated the reindeer from the side. The timing with the moon was perfect, so that the moon wasn’t too faint or too bright, forcing me to adjust the exposure differently. Moments like this are my absolute favorite timing when it comes to photographing animals with the moon as a key element.
